Where does the weather data come from?

Blanket Studio uses Open-Meteo for historical weather. An internet connection is required when loading weather that is not already saved on your device.

Why can’t I select the most recent few days?

The historical archive can lag behind live weather, so the app keeps a short safety delay before the latest selectable historical date.

What do High, Low and Mean mean?

High is the day's maximum temperature, Low is the minimum, and Mean is the daily average. Multi-color square designs map weather values to yarn choices. Structural crochet rounds are configured separately, so a one-color square can still use a full multi-round construction.

Can one square contain several colors?

Yes. Choose High + Low, Low → Mean → High, or Custom Rounds. The mapping chooses yarn colors for the structural crochet rounds; if there are extra structural rounds, the final mapped source continues outward.

How do layouts and neutral squares work?

Choose a continuous grid, calendar/weekly rows, timeline, monthly blocks/strips, neutral month separators, or a custom row width. The app counts filler squares explicitly and includes them in finished dimensions and yarn estimates.

Can I use my own yarn colors?

Yes. Palette lets you edit every temperature band, choose its exact color, and give the yarn or shade your own name.

What is saved in a project?

Your saved project includes the weather you loaded, palette, layout, size settings, yarn planning, inventory and progress.

Do I have to export to Excel?

No. Export is optional; you can plan and track the project entirely inside the app.

How does the yarn estimator work?

Simple estimate uses the total weight of one finished sample square and distributes it across the yarn colors used by the project. Calibrated by round lets you weigh Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and so on separately, then calculates every generated square using the actual yarn assigned to each round position. Joining, border yarn and a waste allowance can be included in both modes. Inventory & shopping compares the remaining requirement with the balls and loose grams you currently have, using per-yarn ball weight and metreage.

What crochet square styles are available?

Classic Granny, Solid Square, Circle-to-Square and Flower Square are available for square-based blanket layouts.
